Defining Dumpster Diving

Dumper Diving is an attack vector whereby a malicious actor will recover information from documents and hard drives that have not been disposed of securely. It can involve literally going through trash/garbage to recover documents or harddrives or through obtaining hard drives when buying second hand devices in garage/yard sales. Dumpster Diving can be mitigated through paper shredders and hard drive sanitization.
