What is Tailgating | Definition and Meaning
Tailgating, also known as Piggybacking, is a form of social engineering in which a malicious actor attempts to gain unauthorized access to a secure area by following an authorized individual. It is a common tactic used by attackers to bypass physical security measures, such as locks or security guards. The malicious actor may actively engage the legitimate user, for example, by asking them to hold open a door, or may simply try to blend in and follow them in.
